Sandra Asenjo

Artist, painter and graphic designer

(Oviedo, 1971)

She picked up paintbrushes when she was very young and at the age of seven she took part in her first painting competition. As a teenager she attended the workshop of Humberto García del Villar, known on the art circuit as Humberto. There she became acquainted with abstract art, experimented with different pictorial techniques unknown until then and made the leap to the Faculty of Fine Arts in Salamanca, where she graduated with a degree in painting.

Although he currently combines painting with graphic design, painting is his best vehicle of expression.

He works without a previous script, without drawing or sketching, letting the material flow and carry it. In this sense, his painting is linked to or draws from informalism.

“All the variants concentrate on expressing directly, by means of an emotional impulse without intermediate signs of symbolic charge, a cry, an intention that is born and comes from the subject who carries it out”.
