Read the exhibition: Plastic Ocean

February 22th, 2024

Reading the exhibition is a proposal that seeks to reflect on the exhibitions through the reading and sharing of texts related to them. On this occasion we will meet at the Gijón Aquarium to talk about the pollution of the oceans.

Océano plástico is a photographic project currently on display at LABoral Centro de Arte that denounces the pollution of the seas, using dirt and waste as an object of artistic recreation. Its author, Carlos de Paz, is an assiduous practitioner of open water swimming and in his photographs there is an evident critical intentionality towards coastal pollution and also an interest in exploring the consequences of this pollution in an artistic way.

The exhibition is accompanied by a book of poems by Fernando Beltrán.

We encourage you to participate by sharing your own and others’ poems, stories, essays… that evoke the theme of this exhibition.

This session will be led by the philologist Mar Martín and we will have the participation of Susana Acle, head of veterinary and research at the Gijón Aquarium, who will give an introduction to her work.

Free activity until full capacity is reached
