Professional parametric modeling workshop with Grasshopper covering architecture and design.

The course is an introduction to algorithmic modeling with Grasshopper, a Rhinoceros plug-in that allows you to design shapes algorithmically. Grasshopper has become an indispensable tool in architecture, design and engineering studies due to its ease of creating shapes parametrically.

This course is aimed at professionals in architecture, design, advertising, interior design, urban planning, engineering, artists, people who work in advertising or simply those interested in 3D modeling, in short, any professional in the world. of the creation that wants to know or develop their knowledge about the possibilities of Grasshopper.

The course will be developed in 3 sessions directed by Ramón Rubio, (MediaLab- University of Oviedo).

Requirements for participants:

No prior knowledge is necessary.

Each participant must bring a laptop with a version of Rhinoceros (there are multi-week test sessions on the Rhinoceros website).

Dates and time:

Session 1: Wednesday, November 8: 4 hours (4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) – Introduction to Grasshopper. Working mode. Project: Gherkin

Session 2: Thursday, November 9: 3 hours (from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) – Basic Grasshopper: Shape generation. Project: Columns of the Alhóndiga.

Session 3: Friday, November 10: 3 hours (4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) – Advanced Grasshopper. Programming. Project: Turning torso
