Born in Avilés in 1969

Carlos Suarez He has a Doctor in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo and a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca. His current artistic work focuses on the investigation of the relationships between human beings, territory, memory and identity.

Of his latest works we highlight !Enjoy a healthy and safe New Year! with the artist Juanjo Palacios, presented at the Municipal House of Culture of Avilés in 2022, a piece built from the industrial dismantling in Asturias. He is the author of the permanent workTime Slabeither Inaugurated in 2022, an artistic intervention resulting from a research process for the creation of a memory space in the La Carriona cemetery in Avilés.

In 2017 he obtained the First Barjola Museum of Gijón Prize with the work Date with history, an artistic research project based on historical memory as a reference. In 2016 she presented the exhibitionThe emptying of the Belgian footprint at the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias, a work built from the archive on Asturian social identity based on its industrial past. For years he has carried out work stays in international centers such as the Fran Masereel Centrum in Kasterlee in Belgium.
